Jan Levine: Game 33: NYR 3 NJD 1, Win and Stepan Hat Trick Lost in Lineup Debate Where the end doesn't justify the means...

Good game, not great, but enough done to secure the win, which is how this win streak can be defined. The team has dominated at times, been dominated at others, but at the final horn, they've gotten the W. I'm more optimistic about their chances moving forward because of how they've been winning. Had they been totally dominant, I'd be waiting for the other shoe to drop, but it seems to me they have both skates firmly on the ice.

As for the lineup changes, any truth to the JT Miller alcohol issues posted in the previous blog comments?

Assuming they win their games in hand, this 8 game win streak has the Rangers on pace with the big boys of the NHL.
at 37 games, 2pts behind Anaheim, and 2pts above Tampa
at 36 games, 2pts behind Chicago, 1pt above Detroit and 5pts above SJ and LA
at 35 games, 3pts behind Pitt, 1 pt behind NYI, 1pt above St.L & even with MTL

Were any of us really impressed with the play of the team last night? No. During this 8 game win streak has it included 2 wins against Carolina by only one goal, a boring as hell game against the Oilers, and last nights close game against the aging Devils? Yes. Do good teams in this league go on 10 game stretches winning 8 or 9 games during those stretches? Yes. But with the parity of the modern NHL, an 8 game win streak isn't (frank)in common, especially with a likely chance to extend it upcoming.

AV likely should have started Miller, hell Glass likely shouldn't be on the roster, but this team is obviously coming together, nd I'm willing to give credit to the man whose led them on this current streak.

Not too bad with a goal and an assist in one period

Hopefully he decides not to pull a Kuznetsov and stay in Russia for 2 more years.

Feels weird to see a Cherepanov on the ice.
Alexei Cherepanov would've turned 25 in January ...

I'm just guessing here but what ever JT did last year is stuck in AV mind . It had to be something major that AV just can't get over . When AV talked about JT becoming more of a pro , maybe the coach just isn't seeing the change or JT just can't regain his truss . If that's the case Slats should look to trade him and give the coach someone he can trust . That just somethimg from my pea size brain no inside info or nothing I've read .

Or maybe he just wanted Stempniak to get in the lineup. I think we're overthinking it...

Any of you guys ever have any issues with ordering from NHL.com? My parents got me a McD jersey for christmas and there were a few issues:

1. Name Plate lifting in the upper left corner
2. Tape still across the letters from when they were heated
3. McDonagh spelt with a capital C

Now I know this was a replica jersey and not an authentic (My dad couldn't find the order form for the authentic online) but I expect a better quality product than that. I plan to call them tomorrow to see what they say. I'm hoping it was just a lack of quality due to the holiday rush but that still doesn't look good on their part.

Look I'm not trying to take away from the win streak with doom and gloom just wonder what was going on with Miller . I hardly post negative stuff when they lose or not playing well , but this one bugs me a bit . On to Dallas and nine in a row

After NHL.com refused to honor those Stanley Cup Replica jerseys for us last year where they had them on sale for $60 bucks, I refuse to ever buy anything from that site again.
